Robert L. Smith, 88, of Lima, passed away at 2:10 AM on March 16, 2025, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born on April 22, 1936, to Selwyn Taylor and Anna Dorothy (Sword) Smith, who both preceded him in death.
Robert worked at Ford Motor Company - Lima Engine Plant and retired after working there for over 30 years. He proudly served his country during World War II in North Africa as a member of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed playing the lottery, doing yard work and watching the Weather Channel. But most of all, he loved spending time with and keeping in touch with his family.
Surviving are his sisters Dorothy J. Myers of Ada and Carol A. Mason of Cridersville; his nephews Gary Alan Smith of Elida and Clifford Raymond Schwier of Lima; his niece Olivia Mae Casey of Westerville. Also surviving are numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Walter K. (Liz) Smith, Richard T. Smith, William D. (Linda)
