Richard "Dick" Charles Slonaker, 86 of Lima, passed away August 23, 2024, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center.
Dick was born May 15, 1938 in Lima, to Richard and Bernice (Vansky) Slonaker, who preceded him in death. On September 1, 1957, he married the love of his life, Sharon (Cole) Slonaker, who survives him in Lima.
Dick attended Lima Senior High School and he worked at Ford Motor Company for 46 years until his retirement in 2003. He loved going to the YMCA and he was a Life Master of bridge. Dick coached little league baseball and he was incredibly dedicated to the children he coached. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and he will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his wife, Dick is survived by his children, James "Dick" Slonaker, Ginger (Dick) Norton, Cindy (Jeffrey) Boatright and Tim Slonaker; nine grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and his sister, Virginia "Ginger" Rex.
