Bruce R. Black, 81, of Lima passed away at 11:30 AM on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at The Springs of Lima.
He was born on September 20, 1942 in Martins Ferry, OH to Mitchell and Irene (Dorsey) Black, who both preceded him in death. On October 9, 1965, he married Wendla L. "Cookie" Dilbone, who preceded him in death on September 25, 2020.
Bruce proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He retired as a Superintendent in 1992 from the United States Post Office after 27 years of service. After retirement, he went to work for Mohler's Florist as a delivery driver. He was a member of Forest Park United Methodist Church, the Farm Bureau Council and was a former member of the Lima Elks. He enjoyed Soduku puzzles in the paper, mowing the yard and hanging out at Dan Grothaus' Barbershop. He also enjoyed playing softball and had played for Western Sizzlin, Steele's and the Saints & Sinners.
Surviving are his two sons Bruce M. (Michele Cardone) Black of Harrod and Carey
